Firecrackers should be banned or not?
We all hear this not once but many times, that firecrackers should be banned then a debate comes that it provides employment to many, then another thing comes in our mind that it also takes the lives of many .. then again we come to this question” IT SHOULD BE BANNED OR NOT’’ Basically we all know that the Supreme court of India had stated the ban on firecrackers in Delhi and other parts of the country.
And it’s not a target on the particular community as we all know crackers are not a thing that a particular community uses its for everyone. So every single citizen involves in it. And not every firecracker is banned because it’s like a slam on the manufacturers whose livelihood depends on this very purpose. So, the judiciary has chosen a mid path to ban only those crackers which create too much pollution and are harmful to the environment.
What are Green crackers?
So, Manufacturers are advised by the judiciary to manufacture only Green crackers, so in this way, there is no barrier to their employment. The general public is also advised to use green crackers only. Because it is in the greater public interest and there is a particular impression being created. If we go to the environmental picture we will realize the chemical footprint of crackers is deadly.
The impact of crackers on children is far greater than it is on adults because their defense mechanism is much poorer and their ability to actively respond and their body capacity in the order of health and environmental agents is different. Moreover, due to their high level of physical activity, children inhale more volume of air than adults and so breath in more toxic air. If we consider its impact on climate only firecrackers have carbon and sulfur and many more ranges of gases. It slowly and slowly destroys the climate which will make various issues like climate change as we are facing now, health issues like asthma, etc, and many more issues like that.
Side effects of noise pollution created by firecrackers?
If we consider animals high decibels of noise pollution created by firecrackers can cause temporary and sometimes permanent hearing impairment. Birds and animals are found dead and sometimes very furious due to this noise. It creates a deadly impact on their life. people of old age also face various problems like sleeping disorders, restlessness, rise in blood pressure, and even heart attacks. various accidents have been reported every year due to misuse or improper use of firecrackers. Lives are lost some are maimed for the rest of their life. Playing with fire, the most hazardous element cannot be fun for everyone.
If we go to the inhuman condition of workers who works in the manufacturing of this firecracker, their condition is worse in factories and the place where they work. With no real precautionary measures or proper shield they work days and nights with these chemicals and the result is seen when there happens an accident. Child labor is incorporated to keep up with the demands of these crackers during festivals. If we buy it would be like contributing to their inhuman condition for another year.
Air pollution ultimately gets hazed in the heavy smoke
The next day to Diwali witnesses burnt garbage which is usually toxic elements magnesium and phosphorous. It is a harm to property and economy crores are spent every year on these burnt firecrackers which ultimately go towards contaminating the natural resources and sometimes properties and lives are lost too due to accidents from these firecrackers.
Whatever measures are taken every year to lessen noise and air pollution ultimately get hazed in the heavy smoke of these crackers and unless a complete ban is imposed on them, nothing could be done to make Diwali and any other festival “eco-friendly”. So to sum up we can say that firecrackers should be banned but the Green crackers or eco-friendly crackers should be manufactured more and more. People are advised to use green crackers only. Strict laws should be made by the government so that the people and manufacturers “Produce the Green and Use the green” and proper implementation of all the laws should be made.
