Actor Suriya Vote for Oscars – The 95th Academy Awards may be India’s moment to shine, as Naatu Naatu, the hit dance track from RRR, All That Breathes, and The Elephant Whisperers, is up for nominations.
This is the first time that Indian-made films have received so many Oscar nominations. The ceremony will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Monday morning (India time).
Naatu Naatu has been nominated for Best Original Song, All That Breathes for Documentary Feature, and The Elephant Whisperers for Documentary Short.
Fans are hoping that the buzz surrounding these productions will translate into an Oscars win, but even if it does not, India will be felt on stage.
The song will be performed live by Naatu Naatu composer MM Keeravani and singers Rahul Sipligunj-Kaala Bhairava in keeping with the Academy’s tradition of giving a platform to all five Original Song nominees.
Tell It Like a Woman from the film of the same name, Hold My Hand from Top Gun: Maverick, Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and This Is a Life from Everything Everywhere All at Once are among the songs competing with Naatu Naatu.
Aside from the live performances, Deepika Padukone, the actress, will present an award at the ceremony. RRR stars Ram Charan and Jr NTR, as well as director S S Rajamouli, will be in attendance to show their support for their team.

The Elephant Whisperers is a Netflix documentary that explores the unbreakable bond between an abandoned elephant and its two caretakers.
It’s up against Haulout, How Do You Measure a Year? The Martha Mitchell Effect, and Stranger at the Gate in the Documentary Short Subject category.
Kartiki Gonsalves, who believes that Indian stories have the potential to be recognized, makes her debut in the film, which is produced by Guneet Monga.
India has never won an Oscar in the International Film category, or Best Foreign Film as it was previously known.
The last Indian film to make it to the final five nominees at the Oscars was Ashutosh Gowariker’s Lagaan, which lost to No Man’s Land in 2001.
However, Indian documentaries such as Smile Pinki and Period have previously won Oscars. End Of Sentence won the Documentary Short category.
The period’s executive producer was Monga. Everything Everywhere All At Once, starring Michelle Yeoh, is this year’s Best Picture frontrunner.

Suriya As Oscars Voter
Suriya is the first Tamil actor to vote at the Oscars. The actor made history when he became the first Tamil actor to serve on the Academy Awards voting committee.
He took to Twitter and shared a photo of himself voting before the polls closed. Suriya, the first Tamil actor to be inducted into the Academy, has voted for the Oscars 2023, an event in which two Indian documentaries and a song will compete in various categories.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced in June that 397 new distinguished artists and executives, including Suriya, Kajol, and Chhello Show creator Nalin Pan, would join the Oscars committee in 2022.
The 95th Academy Awards are scheduled for March 13, 2023. Aside from Suriya, AR Rahman has also voted for the year.
This is a huge honor because Suriya is the first Tamil actor to serve on the Oscars voting committee. Previously, actress Kajol was invited to vote for the 2022 awards.
The National Award-winning actor is currently filming his untitled film Suriya 43. The film is directed by Siruthai Siva, and Suriya stars alongside Disha Patani.
According to reports, the film will be split into two parts. Devi Sri Prasad is in charge of the film’s music. In addition to Suriya 42, the Jai Bhim actor will appear in Vetrimaaran’s Vaadivaasal, a period drama.
The film was supposed to begin production some time ago, but it was put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The film will most likely be shot between April and May. It is said to be based on the ancient Jallikattu sport. GV Prakash will compose the music for Vaadivaasal.
