Child Abuse – Abuse means mental, physical, sexual torture, and exploration. When it happens to children below 18 known as children we can see that nowadays a new method to trap children, especially girls on the web by technology has been observed. Through social media handles, some people make pray to them. Mentality and sexual and physical harassment among students keeps on growing, and a concerning matter on the same hand. In India according to UNICEF 190 CHILDREN suffer from abuse each day.
Reasons
Isolation – Loneliness, unhappiness, pressure building, and lack of trustees persons are some of the reasons behind child abuse by which children easily fall prey to isolation.
Stress – depression among people, career-building pressure, failure, and lack of motivation feeling are some of the reasons why children easily come into any luring given by offenders.
Mental health; Child abuse affects the mental health of the child which makes him\ her more and more frustrated and aggressive.
Failure – Life pressure and inability to deal with life issues and feeling of hopelessness among them.
Substance use:– use of alcohol, smoking, and substance use are the common reasons that result in child abuse it has been seen to advantage girls sexually by drugging and giving alcohol to them.
Low confidence – low confidence among children and the inability to accept facts also of reason.
Poverty – poaching of children by parents due to money shortage has been seen which reflects that is a serious issue behind the abuse.
Illiteracy – Unawareness, illiteracy among children, and lack of bad touch sense are the founding reason behind the abuse of children.
Types and Implications
Physical – Biting, hurt, punched, pushing, throwing, burning, and poisoning are physical abuses where a child is not met to the accident but hurt or injured by someone else.
Emotional – Rejection, criticism, bullying, yelling, family violence, and locking a child or isolated child which affect the child mentally are emotional abuse.
Sexual – forcefully intercourse with the child without his/her assent is the most hazardous and most finding crime nowadays.
Technological – hacking of the account of the child, thugs money, blackmailing to send the private picture at the profile and use children for illegal work are the types of abuse which need to stop and need to take harsh steps on it.
Rage, Depression, Fear feeling of touch and exposure, Man/woman phobia, Suicide. These are the implications of child abuse.
Laws
Posco act 2012 parliament introduced the prevention of child abuse act In order to prevent children’s future which includes imprisonment of 12 years and can be extended according to the provision and section of the constitution. A child at any age or under 18 can be under the Posco act.
Offenses under the Act
The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 was enacted to provide a robust legal framework for the protection of children from offenses of sexual assault, sexual harassment, and pornography, while safeguarding the interest of the child at every stage of the judicial process.
In the contemporary time it became common and those who are suffering from child abuse sometimes take the step of suicide, to eradicate child abuse various initiative has been taken by the government as they believe that child is the future of India and such illegal activity with any child can be hazardous for them, various law has been initiated by the government on the other hand civil society is also working for this.
In civil society, various NGOs help children and adults to take them out of the vicious web of this child abuse. Even various awareness programs, talk shows, and webinars also being conducting in schools and colleges but there is also a need for sex education that can eradicate such social evil from India.
Suggestions
It’s not the only duty of government but it’s each individual responsibility to make the youth aware. One can’t change anything but can bring changes in everything. So, starting should be from houses. Mothers are the first teachers of children they need to be taught that seeds are sawn from the house.
So a change can bring from. Government should implement the law at the practical level or ground level why still We are facing 190 children abused every single day it needs to be sorted out what problems are occurring behind abuse cases even after such laws in India. Hope one day will definitely come when India will combat child abuse and children will feel strengthened themselves.
