Instagram has released a useful tool that will assist the user in locating missing kids. In a blog post, the popular photo-sharing app declared that it is launching AMBER alerts to aid in the search for missing children. According to Instagram’s blog post, law enforcement officials will be able to activate the amber alert, but if you’re in a specified place, the alert about the missing child will show up in your feed.
While informing users about the Amber Alert, Instagram also stated that the opportunities of discovering a missing child rise as more people become aware of the situation. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) in the United States, the National Crime Agency in the United Kingdom, the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children, the Australian Federal Police, and the Attorney General’s Office in Mexico, among others, collaborated on Amber Alert.
How does the Tool Help in Locating Missing Children?
- The AMBER Alert will be activated on Instagram by law enforcement officials, but if you’re in a specified place, the alert about a missing child might very well appear on your Instagram feed.
