 History

Time travel back to the mid-nineteenth 100 years, when the Ruler of Ribs (later Lord Edward VII) managed over this eminent street in Bombay, and we’ll perceive the way things have changed.

A figure portraying the sovereign straddling a pony set on a tall platform, wearing military clothing and holding a sword, was introduced at the crossing point of D N Street, M G Street, and Bulwark Column. Fundamentally, the bronze figure was cleaned to a black sheen, ‘The Black Pony, or Kala Ghoda.’ The eminent Kala Ghoda and its imperious rider represented magnificent power, overshadowing India’s old lane.

During the 1960s, it was believed that having an English ruler in such an unmistakable spot in the recently free country’s monetary focus was not really great for India’s nationalistic soul. The figure was moved to the Veermata Jijabai Bhosale Udyan, usually known as the Byculla Zoo, in 1965.

1. Dance

There will be 77 occasions aimed at kids this year. The various studios and activities will be organized on all days at the Museum of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (11:00 am to early night). The literature occasions will be held at Somaiya Bhavan and Kitab Khana.

4. Theater

35 plays across various languages, for example, Hindi, English, Gujarati, and Parsi are booked which will be held at Horniman Circle Gardens, MC Ghia Hall (Kala Ghoda,) and the National Gallery of Present-day Art (NGMA).

5. Music

Various shows are agreed upon with diverse types.
