Elections always bring a lot of troubles to the environment due to party politics, and this is what is going on in Karnataka.
The Indian Board has received over 1,000 applications. However, not many were highly qualified. A big name that didn’t even make the shortlist was former Indian pacemaker Venkatesh Prasad. If he had been selected, he would have been chief selector, but the many restrictions and lack of salaries sufficient to compensate made these positions difficult to fill.
Karnataka Assembly Election 2023- Karnataka became the centre at present because, under the election period of 2023, the highest chief leader of the BJP party quit the saffron party and joined either the INC or Janta Dal in the state.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi called former deputy chief minister of Karnataka and Bhartiya Janta Party leader KS Eshwarappa Amit in a rumour. Speculation of Eshwarappa quitting the BJP arose, and he informed BJP headquarters and secured a Shivamogga constituency ticket for his son, KE Kantesh.
List of his BJP leaders in Karnataka who resigned:
- Jagadish Shettar:
Karnataka’s former chief minister resigned after Hubali was denied a ticket to his Dharwad central constituency by the BJP.
- Laxman Savadi:
Former Deputy Prime Minister Savadi wanted to run for the Asani constituency. He resigned as a member of the BJP Legislative Council and also resigned from the party after being denied entry.
- S Angara:
Angara was named Dakshina’s sixth MLA from the Saria constituency in Kannada district. He was also the Minister of Fisheries in Karnataka. He announced his retirement from politics the day after being denied a ticket by the BJP.
- Shankar:
BJP MLC Shankar resigned from the Legislative Council the day after the BJP did not give him a ticket to the competition. Shankar was one of 17 opposition MLAs who helped the BJP overthrow the parliamentary and JD (S) coalition governments in 2019.
Denied Ticket
Karnataka Assembly Election 2023- Bjp released a list wherein several former leaders were denied tickets. Lingayat community leader BS Yediyurappa’s son, Vijayendra, was allotted a ticket by the BJP to contest the seat.
The current BCCI selection committee has a total of 25 test experiences, and Shiv Sundar Das has played 23 of them. Their combined international cricket experience is only 55 matches. Most current Indian cricketers have over 100 caps. Therefore, the BCCI needs an experienced candidate to replace Chetan Sharma.
Election Commission Role in Elections
The Electoral Commission has seized more than 40 kilogrammes of gold and more than 20 kilogrammes of silver, worth £23.51 million, in the Tarikere parliamentary constituency in Chikkamagaluru district ahead of next month’s elections in Karnataka. the Electoral Commission said Thursday.
The Election Commission’s flight surveillance team said he seized 40.59 kg of gold and 20.7 kg of silver in the state assembly segment for the election.
Law enforcement in Karnataka has seized nearly 240 million since the election plan was announced. The Model Code of Conduct (MCC) went into effect on March 29.
Why should we expect Politicians to be different?
Karnataka Assembly Election 2023- Karnataka’s elections once again proved that blood is thicker than water, led by the state’s most prominent BJP politician, BS Yediyurappa. The veteran has resigned as prime minister and will not run for election, but he is clearly the face of the ruling party’s campaign. Although he has not taken office from the seat of Shikaripura in Shivamogga District, his successor is his son Vijayendra.
In Congress, things were kind of the opposite. Former prime minister Siddaramaiah ceded his reserved seat in Varna to his son Yasindra in the 2018 elections. This year, his father, a potential candidate for the party, regained his seat, and his son dutifully gave it up.
