The Army Institute of Management, formerly known as the National Institute of Management Calcutta (NIMC). It is a business school for masters and is located in Kolkata West Bengal, India. Life in the Army Institute of Management is itself a great honor.
Established on 28 July 1997 by the Indian Army under the aegis of the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES). In order to conduct a management program for the wards of Army personnel coming from various cities across the country with an opportunity for general candidates as well.
Army Institute of Management affiliates with the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal. All India Council for Technical Education approves the program as well as accredited by NAAC. This college is ISO 9001:2015 certified college.
The old campus is located at Judges Court Road, Alipore in the army Cantt, near the command hospital. Also Currently, they are operating from their new campus in New Town. That is opposite Downtown, right beside the R&D Campus of IIT Kharagpur.

Applicants, who have appeared in CAT/JEMAT can apply for the MBA Program which is for two years. The minimum qualification for admission to the MBA program is Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with 50% marks. But also have a good communication skills.
Candidates, appeared in CAT and have applied for the admissions called for Group Discussion & Personal Interview (GD & PI).
Two separate(one for Army and another for General) merit lists containing the details of applicants are prepared for better functioning. Also the same is to be sent to the Chairman for approval. Students gets information about the approval for the program either individually or via e-mails.

Life at AIM
Morning- It usually starts at 7 am in the morning with a morning fall-in. It is an early morning exercise routine and a general roll call.
Attending the morning assembly is mandatory. Also it helps to motivate students to sleep early at night and get up as early as possible for a great start of the day. The students have to walk, exercise and enjoy their personal time till am. The menu never repeats and cooked with hygiene.
The classes usually start at 9 am and can go till 6 pm. There are breaks during classes and the lunchtime for the students is 1 pm to 2 pm. Kids are to be in their college uniform and eat peacefully and respect food.
Each class is for 1.5 hours to 2 hours. Classes are fully air-conditioned and teachers are highly qualified. It is mandatory to play various outdoor sports in the evening. Different sports like football, Volleyball, Basket ball and Badminton.
Female players plays with full security. From 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm, snacks with tea are provided to students.
After this, Dinner Time – 9:00 pm to 10: 00 pm. The menu is having variety and is cooked in a hygienic atmosphere.
