On September 28, 1985, in Cooch Behar, West Bengal, India, Mouni Roy was born. She is a member of the Rajbongshi Hindu family. Her father, Anil Roy, was a Cooch Behar Zilla Parishad office superintendent, and her mother, Mukti Roy, was a theatre artist.
Her education was completed at the Kendriya Vidyalaya in Baburhat, Cooch Behar. She later moved to Delhi to complete her degree in English Honours at the University of Delhi.
She received her bachelor’s degree from Miranda University, which was recognized by Delhi University. She later enrolled in the Mass Communication course at Jamia Millia Islamia University in Delhi.
She began learning choreography during her college studies and after passing her 1st year of college, she decided to shift to Mumbai to try her luck in Bollywood.
