On World Environment Day 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will initiate the ‘Lifestyle for the Environment (LiFE) Movement,’ a global initiative (June 5, 2022). Prime Minister Modi will give a keynote during the video conferencing event, which begins at 6 p.m.
“The launch will kick off the ‘LiFE Global Call for Papers,’ which will solicit ideas and suggestions from scholars, universities, and research institutions around the world to influence and persuade individuals, communities, and organizations around the world to adopt an environmentally conscious lifestyle,” according to a declaration from the Prime Minister’s Office.
It’s worth noting that the Prime Minister proposed LiFE at the United Nations’ 26th Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (COP26) in Glasgow in 2021. The concept encourages an environmentally responsible lifestyle that emphasizes “mindful and deliberate use” rather than “thoughtless and dangerous consumption.” At 11 a.m., Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Isha Foundation founder Sadhguru will attend a program on the “Save Soil Movement.”
The ‘Save Soil Movement’ is a worldwide awareness campaign regarding decaying soil health and encourages people to take action to improve it. Sadhguru began the movement in March 2022, when he set out on a 100-day motorcycle journey that took him through 27 countries.
