On June 1, 2022, BCCI President and former Indian cricket player Sourav Ganguly announced the opening of a global educational application. He put an end to all pure conjecture about his decision to resign as President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India with the official announcement (BCCI).
Sourav Ganguly had sent a cryptic message on his Twitter account, leading to speculation that he would step aside from his position. Ganguly wrote on Twitter, “The year 2022 will mark the 30th anniversary of the beginning of my cricket career, which began in 1992. Cricket has given me a lot since then. Most notably, it has provided me with the support of each one of you. I’d like to express my gratitude to everyone who has been a part of my journey, backed me, and assisted me in getting to where I am now.”
“Today, I intend to begin something that I believe will benefit a large number of people. I hope you will continue to back me up as I embark on this new phase in life.” Ganguly went on to say. In October 2019, the 49-year-old former India captain was named President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India. His three-year contract is set to expire in September 2022.
Sourav Ganguly has not stepped down as BCCI president, according to BCCI Secretary Jay Shah. “The rumors that Mr. Sourav Ganguly would resign as BCCI President are false. We’re approaching some interesting times in terms of media rights, and my coworkers and I are focused on seizing the opportunity and protecting Indian cricket’s interests “Jay Shah remarked.
