What are food safety measures everyone should follow?
- Washing food before ingestion is one of the most basic food practices that everyone should follow. It is necessary to thoroughly clean raw food-food or veggies before eating them. Before eating, the bundled food’s lids must also be scrubbed.
- It is critical to properly refrigerate food, whether it is cooked or raw. It is important to remember that raw food must be kept separate from prepared meats and therefore must be stored with a lid.
- Raw foods, especially meat, must be cooked properly and meticulously prepared. Raw meat should be cooked extensively to kill dangerous bacteria and make food safe to eat.
- Raw meat, seafood, fish, eggs, and other unprocessed foods must be completely separated from other food products at all times. It’s also a good idea to use a completely separate cutting board for cutting meat.
- If meat is cooked in a utensil used for everyday cooking, it is recommended that the utensil be cleaned regularly even though it will be used to cook other foods.
